Where do they get this stuff?

Last night, I was reprimanding my seven-year-old for back talking, and his response was, "I was NOT back talking... I was simply inquiring." Simply inquiring?! This is one of many phrases uttered by my kids lately that make me wonder... Where do they get this stuff? They often say things which make them sound more like someone's proper British butler than little kids.

So... we're supposed to go to the New England Sand Sculpture Festival today, but the weather report is telling me there will likely be thunder showers. Boo! We've been looking forward to this! Hopefully, the rain will hold off... fingers crossed.
