So I haven’t updated in ages… I think I’ll blame my blog neglect on the fact that SPRING HAS SPRUNG and thus we’ve been spending as much of our time as possible outside, doing outdoor spring things! We’ve made huge progress fixing up the yard, and preparing for this year’s bigger and better garden! Annabelle helped me build two new raised beds, bringing us to six 6’x8’ beds altogether!
We’ve also been spending time going for hikes and just hanging out in our yard. We’ve got a new fire pit this year (a holiday gift from my man) and we’ve really enjoyed spending time by the fire.
Speaking of our yard… we had a little visitor in our yard yesterday… A turtle! Because we have a lake behind our house, we often find various critters in our yard… woodchucks, chipmunks, various birds, dragonflies, bunnies, toads, etc… but this is the first time we’ve seen a turtle! He was way up at the top of our yard, quite far from the lake. We’re not sure how he managed to travel so far! We’re guessing he may have been transported by a predator or something. He was looking quite dry and dusty, so the kids (with some assistance from my almost-brother-in-law) returned him to the edge of the lake, where he promptly ran right into the water and swam away.
We’ve got lots on our plate for the rest the month… some spring cleaning, some home repairs, more yard work, baseball (little league starts today!) our homeschool group’s annual History Fair, and more!
