It wasn't anything in particular that she said or did, but I looked at my daughter today... my Annabelle... and it just struck me what a Young Lady she is becoming! She is going to be nine in May, still very much a little girl in so many ways, and yet in many more ways, she seems poised on the brink of adolescence. When I look at her now, all long and lanky, wavering back and forth between grace and awkwardness, it's harder for me to see the pudgy little cherub she used to be. I'm as proud as can be at the way she is growing, so smart and so capable... and yet part of me, the selfish part, misses the baby girl she used to be.
